Primeras Diosas - First Goddesses

Les estaba contando de mi proyecto de las Diosas.

Después de interesarme en estas figuras femeninas las Diosas comenzaron a aparecer. Realicé varias que ahora comparto y que están enmarcadas esperando su hogar en unas pequeñas galerías. Las realicé en acuarela y lápiz de color en formato pequeño, no superior a los 40 cms. Estaba super feliz con ellas....

Pero hace dos meses aproximadamente sometí a mis queridas Diosas al escrutinio de mi profesor y mentor Carlos Salazar y a Inés Scott, Art Dealer. Yo llevaba aparte de las Diosas varios óleos. El veredicto fue unánime a favor de las Diosas tanto en Tema como en Capacidad pero (es fantástico que siempre haya un Pero en la pintura, así estamos obligados a salir de nuestra zona de comodidad)....Los Peros eran dos: formato y técnica. Hacer acuarelas grandes es una problemática principalmente por la necesidad de enmarcado y su alto peso final, además que ambos me dijeron que la fuerza que yo quería dar a mis obras las podría alcanzar tal vez mucho mejor a través del acrílico o el óleo.

Volví a casa confundida y complicada. No quería cambiar pero algo me decía que debía intentarlo. Así lo hice...pero eso da para otra entrada.

ENGLISH VERSION

I was telling you about my interest in Goddesses. After I discovered that I wanted to paint these powerful female figures, I made several and framed them. Now they are waiting for a new owner in some small galleries. I made them with watercolor and coloured pencil in small format, not exceeding 40 cms. I was really proud of them.

But around two months ago I submitted my dear Goddesses and other paintings to the scrutiny of my professor and mentor Carlos Salazar and Ines Scott, Art Dealer. The veredict was unanimous in favor of the Goddesses both in theme and regarding my own abilities but (it is great that there is always a BUT in painting because we are forced to leave our comfort zone)....

The BUTs were two: a too small size and the media. I needed to paint my goddesses in a larger format and this was difficult to achieve with watercolour or ink (thinking about framing and final weight). In addition, they beleived that I should try oil or acrilic too. I went home confused and complicated. I did not want to change but something was telling me to try. So I did ... but that is another entry.
